Campbell Bruce, Artist. Born 1927 on the island of St Helena. Moved to England 1936. Studied at Croydon College of Art and the Royal College of Art. A painter and also known as a leading curator of contemporary Irish Art. Campbell taught Fine Art at various UK colleges, including North Staffordshire Polytechnic and Canterbury college of Art and Design. He has been living and working in Ireland since 1974. He was Professor of Fine Art at National College of Art Dublin, and held the posts of President of Irish Contemporary Art Society, President of AICA, Ireland, and International Vice President of AICA. He was elected a Member of Royal Hibernian Academy in 2005. Campbell has exhibited widely and much of his work is in private and public collections.
